Shortly after I became a Christian I turned over my finances completely to God. Financially, I was a mess. I was dead broke. So I told God that all my money – every penny I have, and every penny I will make in the future, along with all my possessions – belongs to Him. That means I don’t buy anything – anything – before asking my Father in Heaven for permission. I trusted that God would provide for all my financial needs. And he always has.
Last week I received a letter in the mail. It turns out I received a scholarship. Pretty cool, huh? You know what’s even cooler? I didn’t apply for it. In fact, I didn’t apply for any scholarship. It came to me out of nowhere. It was so surprising, at first I thought they accidentally sent it to the wrong person, and that I would have to give it back. But they assured me it was for me.
“The optimist says the cup is half full. The pessimist says the cup is half empty. The child of God says my cup overfloweth.” My cup truly overflows.
